Hey I am new here glad to see this forum exists,

:(

I am using the demo version of tracktion and really enjoying the new sequencer paradigm. I find it to be very intuitive. I am using it with XP, PIII 1 gighz, 512 megs ram, Tascam US 448 Audion Interface.

I have been experiencing an annoying bug though:

Once I quit tracktion I can't launch it again unless I restart my computer. When I double click on the executable file it simply won't acknoledge that I would like it to relaunch.

Also when I shut down my computer I get a window that says JUCEWindows not responding. I am imagining this must be related to Tracktion since it occurs when I don't have any other programs running.

Is anyone else having these issues? How responsive is Mackie to providing bug fixes?

I am really starting to like the workflow of the program but don't want to shell out the dough until I know that the bugs will be fixed.

Thanks

Do you have 'use realtime priority mode' enambled in the settings page?

Post

Hey thanks for the reply,

Yes I have the priority setting engaged. I guess this may not be a common bug.

Might try "disengaging" that then. Causes problems in most cases. Unfortunate that it defaults to on (or so I understand)

Cool, thanks I'll try it disengaged. Does it improve performance when it's on?

Just becuase you close Tracktion doesnt mean the actual Tracktion process is done shutting down. If the process is still active you cant launch T again. You have to wait until that process is finished.

You can easily check to see if the Tracktion process is still running by hitting control-alt-delete, then clicking on the process tab, now look for Tracktion.exe. You can either wait for a little while until the process ends by itself, or you can click on it and terminate it. Then you'll be able to launch T again. Hope that helps.

not really, but some audio devices behave better with it enabled. Ideally you should leave it off unless you know you need it.

Take a look at the Tracktion log file - it'll be in your application data folder. It;s a standard text file, and it might shed some light on why TRacktion is faling to terminate correctly.

My guess is that either a rogue plugin, or some kind of ASIO driver problem is blocking Tracktion from closing down cleanly.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!
