I recorded some midi drum tracks using Reason Drums rewired into Tracktion. For some reason when I playback, I only hear ever other note although all the midi notes I played can be viewed on the editor. Does anyone have any idea of the cause and possible solution for this problem? Thanks in advance.

Are the note ends touching each other?

Did you "record" the notes in Reason's sequencer or Tracktion's?

Post

I am recording the drum tracks in Tracktion and the note ends are not touching each other - essentially they are bass drum, snare, and hi-hat.

Thanks.

Okay, that's strange then.

Are the Reason Drums the paid-for refill?
If so, are you using a loaded kit in ReDrum or mapped out samples in NN-XT?

Save yourself a lot of hassle... export the loops out of Reason, and place them in Tracktion as audio files... That's what I do!

I am using mapped out samples in NN-XT with the paid-for refill and triggering the samples in real-time with a Zendrum midi controller (I am not much of a looper!). Thanks.

Okay... I've never had that problem in taht case, but I enter loops with a mouse  . I wonder if the controller is in any way responsible for sending mixed messages :? - can somebody else advise, or has anyone else experienced this?

Also if all else fails, DRH53's advice is good too. Quite a few of us seem to be having "issues" with Tracktion 2 as a rewire host...

Seems like I keep hearing about problems with external midi hardware in Tracktion, right?? I could be wrong on that... I don't use any myself!
