Is this also going to include mic modelling? I think this is a big big part of getting a good amp model done that gets entirely overlooked by most. NI's Guitar Rig takes the best approach to this, too bad it just doesn't sound so great.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I really like Guitar Rig you fool! ;)

Sound analyzer, interesting idea Midiman! If someone was to feed the guitar intro to, let's say Highway To Hell the plugin would then try to nail that sound. Now why didn't NI think of that?

It would try to nail the frequenz spectrum,
not the distortion. ;)
But you schould get quite close by turning a few
amp knobs. :)
We will see if I get this to work...

Yeah, really, I say screw the EQ matching (I've got stuff to do that already) and just release this thing already. Though for the projected price, it better be damn good.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

This is getting (got) quite ridiculous; I'm becoming pretty certain that this is all an elaborate joke.

I predict that this time next year Midiworks will still be posting in this thread, saying something like:

"Oh, a fully functioning multitrack audio sequencer, not a bad idea! And a word processor? Yes; I will see if I can get that to work. Planned release date 2018. £2500. That is very reasonable I think."

:D

I guess you are wrong ! ;)

Its a lot of work and the people involved have other things/jobs too.

Some things I just cant do myself and I have to wait
again and again...

Sorry about that !

This thing just aint happening, is it? Oh well, Amplitube 2.0 is coming out soon so...the future looks bright.
"All day long, when I see you, I think of you no clothes, wa-wa-wee-wa, but is very wonderful."

I guess you maybe like unfinished programs full of bugs
that dont deliver what they claim...

Like I said before:

I think, if a HUGE company, with many payrolls and bills to pay,
is not able to provide good to great factory presets
for $499, then there is something completly wrong.

Think about it ;)

@Midiworks
on the other hand Guitar-Rig has won 16 awards incl. MIPA within only one year and is still a software-bestseller - this, just at v1.2...

'bad' factory-presets are always good for tweaking - think about it ;-)

Post

Let Midiworks do what they can. Does it effect any of you at all that this is taking its time? Seriously, why is it that anticipation more than often leads to anger? There are tons of amp sims out there. In the mean time use those.

Post

Carry on, man, I won't be able to afford a new guitar for a few months anyways..

:hihi:

I think the issue some people are having is that he's slagging other products (Amplitube, Guitar Rig, etc) but still doesn't have anything other than MP3s to show for what he's been working on, and this has been the case for quite some time now. He also seems to keep adding features to this that seem somewhat irrelevant to what should just be a good amp sim. Here's what I'd personally need: Good sounding amps, good sounding cabs, mic modelling/positioning (allowing for multiple mics on one cab). No effects, nothing else. Also he estimated the price at being +$200, which is a lot for a company's first release (as you don't know how long the support will keep up, etc), and since development appears to be quite slow (how long will updates/bug fixes take, etc?).

But again, no one wants Midiworks to rush his product or release a bad one.

Now I don't blame him for saying the other products blow, hell I agree with him for the most part, but I think it's just been how he's gone about saying it that has rubbed people the wrong way. And frankly I'm all for doing this well, but I hope the only focus is on the sound of the amps, cabs, and mics; I need nothing else.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.
