But, as Markleford eloquently pointed out in another thread, this would only make sense in case you'd set them somewhere early in the sample, because later in the sustain stage the sound of a bass usually becomes quite uninteresting. And then, setting proper looppoints early in the decay stage might require destructive editing of the source samples, which obviously would be no good for realistic tones.
