Quote from Australian Distributors:
"At this stage we have no firm delivery dates or prices. We should have stocks by early June and we hope the price will be around $299 AUD but as I say we can't confirm this yet."
I would say expect it by Late June, and expect to pay $349 retail for it!!
Eitherway im happy so long as some of the current Gui & rendering bugs get ironed out!!!

!!!$299-$349 AUD, and you are happy!!! I must say it bothers me this doubling of the US$ price when selling this type of stuff in Australia.
Madness, maybe you could try what my friends and I have done in the past- order from audiomidi.com or wherever you can get it cheap. I do not know of anyone who has had a customs tax slapped on such orders as they cross the border- my friend even recently bought a firewire sound card and a microphone, and after paying for registered shipping he still saved about $250AUD from what he would have paid in a Sydney music store.

When you consider that T1 users got T2 instantly for US$20 this seems like a lot more. I know that the boxed version comes with other "stuff" but I could buy the extras I actually want and still have some change.Madness wrote:"At this stage we have no firm delivery dates or prices. Unless you really really want RMIV, seems like Australians would be better to try and buy a T1 license and upgrade?
All I can say is I'm glad I bought T1 last year!

I'm with you, red5. The only plugin I was really interested in was Sample Tank, and from the comments I've read so far it doesn't seem much different from the version we got for free on CM's CD a few months ago. I've been really happy with my $20 upgrade, which is only about A$30 or so. Yes, there are still a few bugs, but I presume we'll get upgrades in due course.red5 wrote: Unless you really really want RMIV, seems like Australians would be better to try and buy a T1 license and upgrade?

Mate...if you make music in Australia you get used to the high prices very quickly!!! Yeah it sucks, but so does having George Bush or John Howard for a President!! Doesn't make it any less real...Just the way it is..!!!
Its unlikely I will be able to buy in the USA and register the software and be entitled to upgrades.
The price equates to $230USD so its not the end of the world.
As for Hardware, it virtually impossible to return an item to the USA for a RA and expect a replacement within 3-6 months.
Im not concerned about the Price, Infact nothing shits me more than the winger complaining about how they lost $20, I mean $20 bucks for f**ks sake...you cannot get a round of beers for your mates for that!!! Why do people expect something for nothing these ddays...SHeesh!! Its not like the $1500 you have to shell out for Cubase.
I will be waiting for a Stable release however, Im not paying good money for something thats broken...
Peace!!!

Couldn't agree more madness, it's a pointless exercise worrying about what other people pay for stuff in other parts of the globe. We live in Oz; we get the weather, unless you're into snow I suppose.
John Howard for president though? That IS a worry....

@Yurty: I here you, all I was saying is you can have the weather, and order from an internet company and save money, quite a bit depending on what you want

No worries PW, wasn't having a go at you mate. I agree, we Aussie/Kiwi/just about anywhere outside US/Euro musos pay more, for everything. Except picks (maybe). The economies of scale distributors and resellers overseas can factor into their prices will never be available here. It just seems a bit self-defeating to me, worrying about what the neighbours have (or have access to) in comparison to your own situation.
It's tough alright when you're flicking through an overseas music mag seeing all this grouse gear you can't buy or afford here. I suppose I've got used to it.
