I've probably missed something here but:

1. What are the important differences between Eve and EveOne

2. Is there any point in cross-grading to EveOne if Eve 2 is coming soon(ish) ?

cheers

1- EveOne is a totally new synthesizer.
It has very little in common with EVE except the support for DashSounds. It also offers native support for Wusik samplesets.
It also offers independent ADSR envelopes for filters and amplitude.
When you need a specific (vintage) sound EVE One is most likely the right plug to load: load it, choose the sound, choose the settings via the SoundWizard, tweak it a bit and it will be ready.
The no-preset concept, you start from the sound you want and get it quickly.

2- Eve 2, like EVE, will be more complex than EVE One and it may not be so immediate or so easy to use.

Have fun!
Aldo.

Make my day (and a lot of others). Will Eve 2 have a wave sequencer and be able to import presets from a certain other vst?

I am very satisfied.

I just got my EVE 1. Its amazing, with all effects on and 8 finger chords I get less than 5% cpu!

A few issues I noticed:
-knob movement is still only circular, no option for linear (mentioned this in the beta period too)
-re: filter envelope. I find the release is MUCH too fast, even at max. The release times should be the same as the decay times, which are fine.
-above 50% or so, the attack/decay filter env sounds very 'stepped' and not smooth. I can send an mp3 if you like.

presets we don't know yet, since it's hard to decide what EVE 2 would be,

but something like wave sequencer or better, yes

nice isn't it?, <grin>

by VST specification the option for knobs behavior should be matter of the host, the plugin could force the host but should not,

so far in EVE ONE you may use Alt+mouse to swap method

thanks, maybe we forgot to update that release parameter when decay was made longer,
we'll check that

Thats what Aldo said before.. But.. EVE One is the only plugin out of my 100+ to do this. And none of my hosts (Tracktion, Energyxt, or Chainer) have any options that I can find for changing to linear mode. Not only that but the original EVE doesn't exhibit this behaviour.

Couldn't linear be default and circular alt-click?

I will make the mp3 on the 'stepped' filter env later tonight and post it, don't have time right now. Cheers! :D

I really love this synth. The sound is great especially applied with some chaotic echo. Its great for pads. Very very nice synth.

Keep up the good work! :)

Same for me, on boths counts (hosts not allowing you to set knob mode and *no* other VST/is that have circular as default). I'd love to see it the other way around too, vertical for default - circular via a modifier. I'm close to jumping on this :)

If my memory serves correctly it's some five years that the specification of linear/circular mode is around and still too many host developers are ignoring it.
Why?
In my opinion many users have the tendency to talk only with the plug-ins developers, because they actually listen to the users.
We will add a mode selector (not a big effort) but please talk about this issue with the hosts developers as well.
Wouldn't be easier if one could (like in Cubase or Nuendo) set the knob mode in the host and all the plug-ins behave accordingly?

yes, this is a fantastic synth. the effects are excellent, the gui beautiful, the patch creation system is genius.

you guys have done a wonderful job.

but, like the other person above, *please* put out a revised version to fix the filter release time. it's not really usuable at present, especially considering this synth's use as a pad machine. :( :(

....can't wait to try all my EVE+Wusik sounds on it. 8)
