The inputs do run hot. Turn down whatever you're feeding into it- and if you're using it on an aux send, keep the level down and run it post-fader instead of pre-fader.
bduffy, I wouldn't try the demo if I were you. It's 1.01 or something like that, and it DOES crash. I've never been able to figure why they don't update it... :?

Funny thing: at the NI website, there is no PC demo available. But I could download the 1.5 demo from download.com - Standalone only! So I couldn't try after all.

i tried running the fx on a separate bus where i can control more preamp faders...i'm not maxing out the volume anymore...but i sTILL get tons of static...i mean is it supposed to just sound like a LOT of distortion and crackling and static? on every preset?
