Headquest - glad you're sorted looks like I'm on my own now ....

Tried your suggestion about 3/4 Buss - Still nothing - it just isn't synched. The speed is showing as default 120bpm in T, and 85.86 (the track I loaded)in Live and the Live Transport controls are dead. Even though Live tells me it's in Slave mode on Startup, it isn't - the Audio setup is still accessible. And Midi Output is still visible.

Stopping tonight I'm rewired out, and off to play "live" with my band

Will give it another crack tomorrow <sigh>

hmm curious.. do you guys have multiple versions of live installed? like your old copy is still installed?

Not here, ModuLR, just 4.1.2. I always uninstall the previous ones (but keep the install files just in case

)

No I've wiped each version as I've gone along.

Don't know precisely what I did to get it working.

1. Same ReWire.dll in \Windows & \Windows\System32 (1.5.x from Rsn3). \Windows\System32 alone didn't work.

2. Order of events HAS to be (or it doesn't work consistently)

a. Load T2

b. Create ReWire Filter

c. Select Ableton Live in Filter

d. Load Live (no ReWire message AND runs much faster)

e. Load Live Set

f. Change tempo in T2 to match Live Set, set Live output Buss to ReWire Channel, and T2 to same Channel

g. Play

Something is flakey here though, whether it's T2 or Live I couldn't say.

I presume you were just loading the rewire filter (but not selecting the device), then loading ableton? happy to hear you got it sorted!

what aspect is flakey?

I don't think that's what he meant, surely

I think it's flaky that Tracktion cannot receive audio back on busses 1/2 (Mix L/R), even though Tracktion sees this as the default. That can't be right

.

Adobe Audition as a rewire host DOES receive audio back from Live on busses 1/2, so the problem does appear to be with Tracktion on this one.

I probably misread something.. but I assumed the loading order was wrong since he mentioned "no ReWire message AND runs much faster." just out of curiosity, does L/R output work for you jalapeno? I still haven't been able to replicate headquests delima here...

Correct, but you select the device too before loading Live. Runs at speeds as if it wasn't ReWired.

The Flakey thing is gut feel. With Reason after loading T2, you can create the filter before or after loading Reason, and you can select the device whenever ... it just works. Rock. Solid.

T2, ReWire & Live just has the feel of magic about it. Like I said I can't say if it is Live or T2 though, but happy it works (I do suspect it could be Live, but no response to my support request email yet).

You've lost me now mate. What is it in Live that Ableton plan to fix in a couple of days?

Also, if you let them know about a problem a week ago, they worked on it to find a solution, and are now getting back to you saying there will be a fix in a couple of days, I think that is a much faster response than - ahem - most companies give when there are known issues

Live have recently released version 4.13 - apparently it has rewire issues (as a slave as far as i'm aware) - so ableton are suggsting a rollback to 4.12 until they release 4.14 in approx 24-48 hours.

Oh, I see. I've not been on Ableton forum today. But the problems first raised in this thread were present in Live 4.1.2, and continued in 4.1.3. The specific problems I have had applied in Tracktion but not in Audition. It will be interesting to see if any of this improves in 4.1.4
