Hi,

I am a T2 user. I use Izotope Ozone 3 inserted in the master volume section followed by Tape-It v1.0 to record the audio flow.
Render in T2 isn't reliable...

Of course, I use dithering in Izotope Ozone 3 to make the file 16bit/44.1khz but I am wondering if I'm doing right when I select "16bit" format in Tape-It?

Is the audio resolution truncated or does Izotope already output a 16bit dithered signal?

My main concern is in fact about the bus resolution which is 64bit, but in mixing.

Thanks for your help.

well VSTs can't output 64bit the resolution is 32bit (highest possible with the current VST specs)

and I don't think Ozone spits out 16 bit when dithering is enabled... this should be achieved using the host or tape it in your case

Thanks for the answer.

But what does it mean? If I dither to 16bit, the signal should be 16bit on the bus, right?

erm.... not sure about that.... could be, though.....

AFAIK the audio coming out of ozone is at the bitdepth set in the dither settings on the maxiniser tab ...

... so if youre using ozone to dither down to 16bit then recording at 16 bit in tapeit should be fine (record any higher than that and youd only have to dither again ... and you should do NOTHING to the signal after the first dither) ...

... interesting question though
