Goodness, I am really seeing more and more why I want to stay away from here. I've seen more mis-quotes in the past three pages than I have in the past 5 presidential elections and all of Michael Moore's books combined.
I love Tracktion. I've been called a fanboy. That's fine, doesn't bother me. Nobody here really knows me. But it really, REALLY urks me when facts are twisted, and stupid assumptions are made. I can't even begin to list the posts I'm talking about.
As I said, and most of you know, I'm a loyal Tracktion user. However, I use ProTools also, and I'm fairly fluent in Cubase and Digital Performer, as well as Reason 3. I also use Live 4, but don't particularly care for it. And I'm not going to lie. When I use those other apps, I see a TON that I wish T had. Some of those things would even help my workflow. And they are all revolutionary in their own way, with their own features. But what sets Tracktion apart for me is how things are put together. Yeah, it does take the best of most worlds, despite lacking hundreds of things that set the other apps apart. But Tracktion takes everything you NEED to make music and makes it easy. I have NEVER used a host that I or anyone else I know personally has been as easy to learn and use as Tracktion. And I've used about everything over the years(done music in alot of places). Tracktion doesn't have to be considered "pro" for me to want to use it. Although with T2 it's surely going that direction. I'm not going to use it to make my music better. I'm not going to use it to brag to my friends how easy it was to make my music. I only use it because it lets me focus on my art, and my passion, without getting in the way. Again, I have so many things that I wish Tracktion could do, but when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter to me. It's about the music, nothing else.
I also ask, back on topic, where there are any rules to say which marketing campaign is good or not. Whoever says that Mackie is using the wrong tone is completely mistaken. It's just a matter of preference. Mackie has used humor for years, and guess what, you'll find their products in many PROFESSIONAL studios. Come to Nashville, I'll show you a few.
And what's wrong with humor anyway? I see investment companies, insurance companies, drug companies, and so many more using humor every day. These are serious matters, but they seem to be doing alright.
I could almost guarantee you that Tracktion is getting WAY more interested parties than we realize. Besided the early, fantastic reviews in mags, to the ads EVERYWHERE, I think they'll be doing just fine. Nobody really knows.
I read things here only every couple days now. It's not worth my time to come here and just use my time posting defenses for Mackie. Do I agree with them all the time? Nope. But do I REALLY hate it when people make unfounded statements or unfair statements about a company that has given so much for Tracktion already, as well as giving Jules a way of paying the bills. So they're not perfect. Neither am I, and neither are you. But some people think it's their job to constantly moan(I promise, NOBODY in mind here). Guess what, I have no problem with voicing complaints. And yes, I've had bugs I've discovered, some of which are ones mentioned here. So please, let Mackie and Jules know what's wrong. That helps things. Bust constant bickering back and forth about "he said, she said" is so 4th grade. It's degrading to a forum.
If Tracktion is indeed being put in the market as a pro app, then surely this forum doesn't reflect that. Sometimes, this forum makes Tracktion seem like a joke. That does far worse than any light-hearted video could ever do.
I've given up on trying to remember who said what, and even who I agree with on an issue or not. So please, don't argue too much with me, cause I likely won't respond. Not because I don't want to, but other things are just way more important than petty arguments.
I really want to help people here. I try so hard. But I can't bring myself to weed through all the crap to do so. I feel that so many have shared knowledge with me, and for that I am grateful. I only hope that I can share that in return to someone else. But for now, I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth. And I can't take another bite.
Peace, ya'll. It's all about the music, and the passion. I'm out.

Some people need to see the humor in things an they might lighten up some. The video is pretty off the wall but watching Traction 2 in action should have been the main focus. Serious or not Traction 2 seems to be easy to use right from the start. An I can see the fun factor in using it. Wonder if every other software developer is thinking the same?
Please dont bite me.
