First note issue

I remember reading about some issue with a first note not being played with a rewired redrum. I seem to get this as well if i have a sequence in the reason sequencer that is triggered by tracktion. Is that the same issue?

there are actually a couple of different issues that manifest as 'dropped note.'
I was under the impression that your setup as described above *should* work fine, although some people have been describing general rewire issues, so maybe not.

Yes, like Big D and steve, the missed note from Reason's Redrum is still there. In fact this happens with any Reason device where Tracktion is handling the audio return from sequencing done in Reason. And while we're mentioning it, it misses the first note back from Live 4 as well. I'm not sure if it does the same with all rewire slaves, but it's certainly a pain if Rewire host functionality is one of your particular uses for Tracktion.

I noticed that the midi clips dragged from RMIV are doing the dropped note thing now
If you enter the notes in a midi clip, it's fine... But the draggable clips are a problem on my machine at this point (Mac G5 OSX 10.3.9)... I just lowered my latency to 9.6 the other day to check it out... been running 11.2... Absynth won't playback correctly?? Weird... Gave up on the Rewire!

Hmmm, I suspected you hadDHR53 wrote: Gave up on the Rewire!
In fairness though, once I've finished a particular project I'm doing in Tracktion, I plan to leave it now. I simply find Aleton Live a much better all-round sequencer, much easier to use, much more fun, and fits my workflow better

I never got Live to work at all... maybe mine is posessed or something? Works fine by itself, and with Reason... But I tried everything with Tracktion, and no way? The best I can get is Reason instruments playing in Tracktion

Just slightly off topic here, but I just read an interview with Ernst Nathorst-Boos, founder and CEO of Propellerhead software, in which he observes:
"Ableton Live is great, while Tracktion is an interesting concept, but that last marketing campaign they put together for it was very strange if you ask me".
...which probably sums up what a lot of people think

I agree with him about Live being great and Tracktion being an interesting concept though

...and I'll bet Ernst is just smarting about those comments in the Mackie add where it says "it doesn't have cute 3D racks or patch cables"
