I tried to compile a list with comments in MS Word, but it seems kinda messy and awkward - is there a database-style program that would be better suited to this? HTML?
Just curious, it's becoming a jungle in c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins.
A great invention is a little program called "NotePad" (Win PC).bduffy wrote:Just wondering how other VST addicts keep track of what's good and what's not. I've got well over 300 vst plugins in my folder now, and even though I tend to delete stuff I don't like, it's hard to keep track of what you thought sounded good and why, etc. And I'm trying/adding plug-ins almost daily!

But probably it's much too complex at the moment...
as i said ...S_A_P® wrote:I have reduced my plugin count by about 200 and I am much happier as a result... I say keep 10-15 instruments tops. Then 1-2 each of compressors, modulators, reverbs, distortions, and then mebbe 5-10 special purpose plugs. You will be amazed how much more productive you are

I use this small freeware program called sample catalog. It's designed to be a samples database, but with some imagination and tweaking of the default keywords it works great for instruments and effects.bduffy wrote:
