I need a little help.
I talked to my music shop but about getting me a T2 box.
That seemed fine, but they suggested the spike bundle.
Which seems fine since Im very dissatisfied with my fastrack usb (dont buy it input levels are to low!!!)
However, they could not answer me a few basic questions.
Is that T2 in that bundle ?(Mackies webpage is inconclusive in that regard)
And is it the full box version or some stripped down version?
Has anybody bought this bundle and or could help me with these questions.
I emailed mackie, but have yet to recieva an answer.

AFAIK (so NOT an official word obviously) ...
... at the moment the version of tracktion in the spike box is still 1.6 (i GUESS that as new stock is produced this may well become T2) ... but once you register the software on the mackie site you should be able to grab the T2 upgrade for nothing ...
... so youll get T2 and the mackie / acuma / mda plugins ... but NOT the extra T2 boxed bundled plugins ...

Since I'm not in the states or the uk, im not eligable for the upgrade.
And I really want the boxed version.
Guess I have to call again.
Still no word from Mackie.

Beno and Co. have been absolute mute about this question both on this site and at the official forum.
My guess is that Spike is dead - as soon as the current stock is sold out - it's gone for good. It didn't seem like there were many Spike users here and I've got to believe that they have to have some critical mass of a user base to justify continuing support and sales of an item.
I've asked the question several times here and over at Mackie's forums, and not a single answer from Mackie on the topic.

I emailed Mackie support about this a few days ago, and apparently they have no plans for including the boxed version of T2 with Spike. Correspondence below :
"Tracktion 1 is the version that is actually on the disk, but when you register Tracktion, you automatically get Tracktion 2 (for free) in the download form. Unfortunately, there is not upgrade path to the boxed version of Tracktion 2 (for the additional plugins).."
"From everything I have heard, the Spike will not be shipping with the boxed version, nor will a user be able to get the boxed version at a discount if they purchase the Spike. Sorry I do not have better news."

Well that answers my question then, thank you CPB.
I really want all the boxed plugs way more then I want the Spike hardware.
Ill just make due with my fasttrack usb.
