T1: I hear both the input and output when recording

T1 was working fine. Lately, I had some latency and thanks to Lunch Money for helping me out.

What's weird now is that when I record audio, it almost sounds like it's got phasing - it seems like I hear the sound going in as well as the output (tough to explain) - they sound sort of distorted when I'm recording (because I'm hearing both signals) but the recorded signal is perfect when I play it back.

I'm using Win XP with the onboard sound and trying to figure out what settings might have caused this to happen...

Thanks in advance - this is really odd...

Not odd, it's an e to e thing, check it.......

In the lower right......DO NOT disable end to end........but....click on the audio in device you are using for recording....and make sure that the "enable end to end" is DISABLED (the upper left of the lower middle.....)

That should do it.....works well for me. :D Otherwise, you are getting two signals......ala phase funckay sound.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just tried it. I disabled it for the audio in signal (in the middle, next to "treat as stereo channel pair") and left to e-to-e button on the bottom right enabled - but when I do that, I don't hear the signal at all when recording.

So I either hear both the input and output or nothing at all. Well, in the latter case, I hear other tracks that have been recorded but I don't hear what I'm recording...

You can do the mute thing and then unmute to listen, hassle but it works.

That is odd though........that is one of the things I really like about t.....not having to do the mute thing.

Yep, just tried it ......works here so let's see where the chain is busted......

I just happen to hava maudio 192 it's set up basic. Podlivext going into the input.....monitor outs to mini mixer (shouldn't matter) so I can use headphones.

In setting........it's the asio 192, in a and out ...hmmm I have asio direct mode disabled.......I wonder if that is it......

Post

nope, the only thing that trips me up is if I enable the e to e.....then I instantly get the double/phazy thing.

Sounds suspiciously like you're physically wired up wrong somehow. It sounds like you're hearing the signal before it actually reaches your soundcard (ie. it's being output to speakers from the mixer) AND also when it comes back out of your soundcard (with introduced latency and all the problems that would go with that).
