I'm facing a very weird and frustating problem... I thought it was a good time to reformat the hard disk and reinstall windows XP and my favorite vsts starting from scratch, and so did I. But then, when I reinstalled the Tracktion demo, the damn thing decided the audio output is "not connected", no matter what I do.
I'm using an onboard ac97 sound chip with the asio4all driver. Other programs (energyXT, Kristal audio, stand alone versions of vst instruments...) are having no problem at all with the asio driver. Tracktion is the only thing behaving differently: When I click the asio control panel button on the settings tab the audio outputs are "unavailable". I tried clicking every button in sight, to no avail... Windows sounds are off, no other programs are running at the same time, I really can't see what the problem is, since everything else is working as expected. The inputs are working, too.
No problems with the directsound drivers, BTW, but then the latency gets unbearable. The weird thing is, the very same programs, the very same drivers, the very same everything was working great just a few hors ago...
Can anyone think of anything that might have gone wrong? Might this be an issue with the demo version that will go away if I buy the thing?
Thank you,
Pedro K

Now this is embarrassing... I guess I clicked every button but *that* one. Thanks, mate. Can't wait to buy this thing, it really fits my workflow.Tingle wrote:disable the GS wavetable SW synth in the MIDI devices in Tracktions audio settings.
