Anyone, Are racks saved with the edits? i.e. will a preset appear globally in the filter list... I thought I saved some racks, and they have disappeared??

:help:

Post

if you saved it correctly (witch had me confused for a week or 2) then thay should be there for use in all edits

Hmmm... how is "correctly"...? they showed up in the rack list when I made em' but when I created a new project and edit... they're gone??

Rack filters only show up in the filters list when their rack is currently in use in the edit. You need to press the 'new rack' button and choose your preset there first..

To save a rack for global use you have to create a new rack, then click on "manage rack presets", then "add this rack to list of presets". Then it'll show up on any edit when you click on new rack, "load preset rack".

I thought I did that? DOH! I guess not... :-o

I love that EQ!... I'm putting it in all of em!

Which EQ?

Hmmm... is there more than one? The 4 band equalizer that comes with T... That thing is perfect, I wish it was in every channel by default, myself! :hihi:

Does what I need quickly... :!:

I agree. The interface is really cool.

Oh and you can always make a template that way you CAN have it on any track right when you start a song.

Template? can you make a template?? I still can't figure out how global things or defaults work in this program... For instance, I saved my rack presets in one project, and they don't show up in the drop down list with the filters... I have to open them in an edit, before they will show up in the VST filter list?? :? Is there a way to make them show up in that list whenever I create a new project? Or a way to make a template/edit that will always appear in a new project??

I've probably asked this before, so excuse my senility :help:

The racks never show up in the filter list as far as I know. The only list they show up in is the one when you create a new rack, then "load a preset rack". Thats where all the presets you saved go.

And as far as the template, its pretty easy. Make a new project, with all the EQ's and junk you usually want, then export it as an archive named template. From then on everytime you make a new project, right click on it and "unpack archive into this project", find and choose the template. That way you'll start with your template instead of an empty project.

Cool! I knew there must be a way... But, you know there's a "rack" directory/folder (like the NI instrumnents/LinPlug, etc.) in the VST/filter list, right? ...that shows the racks, if you saved/opened them in that edit...(I guess?)

I thought if you saved the racks as presets, they would be in that folder/directory in all projects! Hmmm, sounds like an idea, anyway :)

Thanks for the help!

Yeah I've seen that folder. I never knew what it did  . The other way works fine tho. You just gotta remember to save the rack.

That folder just allows you to add rack filters in the same way you add other types of filter. It makes sense that only current racks show up: otherwise you could create a rack filter that does nothing because there is no corresponding rack, or you would need to have some way to automatically create a rack when you drop its filter onto a track.. in which case, what happens if you create another one? Would it create another instance of the rack, or refer to the first?
