I use IPOD 2nd generation in the car, gym, flights, etc. In the car I have a stereo with aux in so I just connect a cable to the IPOD, in this way I get the best quality.Manc Chris wrote:Never been interested before, but now, as I am facing some serious time driving around the country, I've realised that it would be convenient to have hundreds of albums in one box. So, coupla questions ...
1)Anyone using such a thing in their car? How is it hooked up to the car stereo system?
2) Any recommendations on which box to get?
Reasons to use IPOD:
1) Great sound quality
2) You can run Linux on it: http://www.ipodlinux.org/Main_Page
Sometimes, do the wrong thing

there is only one reason to use an iPod and that reason is iTunes.
otherwise , you'll get more bang for your buck elsewhere.
When someone figures out a hack to use iTunes with other players (seamlessly!!!) the floodgates will open
