two quick questions:
do you prefer more arabic/north african patterns arranged in 4/4 or more with original signature 7/8, 8/9, 10/8, 7/4, 11/4?
may the number of patterns make the price?
15 USD with 100 patterns or 10 USD with 42 patterns?
more later,

would like more 4/4 patterns but other signatures good as well. Would pay a bit more for extra patterns, definitely.

100/15 is a strange signature.2windy wrote:4/4 for me as well really. I'd go for the 100/15 option too.

I hear you about that,
when and if there will be a Pro version of DK+ it would run parallely to the current DK+,
you see that we started with a very low price per feature, DK+ is not something you code in one week, <grin>
but this doesn't mean that who get DK+ will be forced to get DK+ Pro to get the updates,
that's not our style,
the two products will be equally supported

If it is a different product serving a different need, I have no problem with that, but if you split the product and stop improving the dk+ I bought, man.... what got me happy is that you kept improving a product I bought for cheap, giving me a sense of real value. If you leave me in the dust and have a dk+ pro on sale, I am going to be bitter.
I you have a larger number of voice (for exemple) or an extended feature set on the dk+ PRO, but KEEP UPGRADING dk+ in parrallel, that may keep me happy.
But if in one year the dk+ I bought is a shelved product without any updates and you have a more expensive PRO verion that you keep upgrading -then my opinion will be made concerning the "good value" of your products.
On the other hand nothing prevents you from make dk+ more PRO while respecting your current customers, you can even raise the price for new buyers, they will come if the features are there.
It would especially piss me off if the PRO version includes suggestions I made here in this forum and I cannot have access to it. Alll users here try to help you improve the product they bought and benefit from that. That is why I come here and spend the time to evaluate/post suggestions about dk+. Many suggestions I have made were implemented in dk+1.1. Should I make more info available to you if you are going to put those features in another product I won't get????
Anyway I guess I wil have to watch you go, and remember the update money you will get from current users of dk+ may not be the kind of money you want to get, as it is going to cost you your reputation of excellent and affordable product, witch if I where you I would try to keep as long as I can.
I spend enough money as it is to maintain/upgrade hosts, if now every little plug I buy is put out of the developpent cycle and I have to buy it again in upgraded form from the same dev, well I just want to say I am going to select what and from who I buy even more.

Sorry for the previous rant, and I am glad to know DK+ will continue to evolve even if there is a DK+ PRO...liqih wrote:

...but since I bought it thru the group buy you made on kvr not very long ago, I am still a little shocked to learn that you need to split the product and make a pro version -there is still some aspects to improve on the current dk+. I did not know at the time I was buying a product at the end of its life cycle. It is highly usable now, but only since sample import is not always normalized. That make a few weeks of usability. Already time to split the program and make a pro version? That is more of a cashflow problem I understand, than a technological advance, unless the pro version brings something that was not part of the original intention, like time stretch or a loop slicer, but anything that is normaly part of the drum machine concept should be included in dk+.
If you would make dk+ nicer in the aspect of visual desing/GUI (the pattern page sucks visually) I am sure you will generate more sales.
You make excellent soundsets and patterns and will probably support you this way, 100 patterns and african sounds for 15$ sound good to me.

not as first step, talking about a "pro" version doesn't mean it will be released in a week, maybe one year later
yes and no, the DK+ springs from the DK1 code,That is more of a cashflow problem I understand, than a technological advance,
so it's something which need an advance
this is true too, ma nothing is decided at 100% yetunless the pro version brings something that was not part of the original intention

Hi Liqih, liqih wrote:tonalaxis wrote:About the Step sequencer Liqih. How about making it use all 24 slots insted of the first ten. Without making the grid smaller you could just add a 'page up/down' button. I noticed that in the CM review they pointed this limitation with the sequencer out.liqih wrote:so far acoustic kits overcome any other request!
cool but strange, I'd thought that the step sequencer would have rather fit electronic stuff
thanks, keep the feedback coming
Just a thought.
Excellent drums though brings back memories of my old Boss drum machine. Easy to use and loads of drums at my finger tips. Nice work!
thanks mate,
there will be a DK+ pro with all advanced features, we are thinking about it
Having done some mapping and programming now I think some extra sample slots would turn, what is already an excellent drum machine into something really special.
In mapping the ns_kit7_free the 24 pads were more than enough, but I struggled to convert the patterns I sequenced in eXT to DK+ because of only having the 10 slots - though I'm not looking for 24, maybe 12 - 16?
Anyway, great product, very intuitive to use, really looking forward to future developments. I really like the "humansiation" features and I'm find it quite easy to get a "human" feel using the various randomisation features.
Excellent stuff!
