Does the new Ableton 5 Support dual core/ multi processors?

g4 or g5 ...there is a difference..what I gather is that g5 with dual proc are like as if the two where just one ...so you don[t havew that thinggy back on os-9 with the g4(remember software had to have a special feature for it to work on one)

No Live does NOT support dual processors period .
Doesn't support Hyperthreading either or have any SSE/SSE2 or Altivec optimised code in it either.
(Just so you know).

Yes it can but only the native Effects and Instrument plugs will rewire into DP .
As long as you're aware of that one limitation you're fine.
So no 3rd Party Audio Units or VSTi's will rewire with Live as slave into DP.
You'll either have to use them in DP itself of Freeze/Render the tracks to audio that use them before rewiring.

Writing a multi-threaded app is a *lot* harder than writing a single-threaded app. I'm sure Ableton has plans to support dual core/cpu but I'm guessing they didn't think they could get it done in time for Live 5.
The new freeze function should ease the pain considerably though.
