The boxed version is about feeding a network of distributors who can in return spread the word that there is a new kid on the block who earned the right to be boxed. This kid also has a famous step father so we can charge a little more and feed everybody not just the father.
The kid sells all over and all these buyers will hopefully come back for upgrades and maybe even look into the kid's big step brothers.
The kid also helps the step father's reputation as the one who always brings to the world innovative new kids.

Just pure marketing, not technical download hurdles.

So Frippertronix' observation that the box is shipped with .1.2 instead of .1.4 was something deeply important to him and I invalidated his feelings on the subject because I'm a poor communicator who doesn't know how to listen to people, but instead dismisses them. Or is it that I didn't feel like explaining above and beyond the original response that the boxed version includes more than just the T core program, and THAT'S partially what you're paying for....?

All this, as opposed to your measured response quoted above, which preserves people's feelings, is sympathetic to other perspectives, and doesn't mock anybody. Thanks for setting the example-- I'll know for next time.
