Design is not just about the looks, you know. Ive been 3 months on the road in brazil 2 years ago, and 4 months in india this year, and I dont know if a wintel would surwive what I put my powerbook through, seriously! Thats what I dig with apple, titanium frame, no loose parts, nothing sticking out that can break, etc. Supreeme tight build, THAT is good design to me ;-)

Speed or design? yes, thank you to bouth!

Some of the Panasonic laptops look good, though. They are built for the army!!

...but this is getting slightly of topic now! err, help? :)

(just a thought)
Engineering problem? More like impossible. Unless they sold them with kevlar pants.

If you think a powerbook is fast I think you'll be very happy with the Intel move. Intel and AMD laptops have been running circles around the Powerbook for years. Theres nothing fast about the G4 PB.

Kevlar pants? ...Oh you mean for the heat from the G5 chip... Yea, I never thought they would be able to pull that off... Furthermore, the G5 Imac was a test to see how a G5 would do in a small enclosure... Not too good!!

I suspect IBM *could* have pulled it off if they had tried. I just don't think they cared to.

The problems with making the P4 run cool, quiet, and without wasting the energy output of the average TV, were architectural, and not easily overcome. From what (little) I understand of the G5 problems, it was far more an issue of the manufacturing method used.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

If you read the post, I said the centrino laptops are about 3 times faster then the powerbooks now.

With this coment you are comenting, I was talking about a future wish! Now, can we get to the topic? :)

Just a shot in the dark: is 64-bit mixing turned on in the options? That will make T2 suck a bit more cpu than T1 - but when I tested it was only 5% slower at most...

IBM will be plenty busy making Cell processors for PS3s and PPCs for Xbox 360s in the months and years to come. Apple represented less than 3% of their CPU volume. Financially, that's just background noise.

Some type of crazy emoticon algo. :D

I have no clue whats goin on with T2's performance. I havent noticed ANY difference at all. All my old projects that were running at 80-90% are still running fine. So it cant be more than a 1-2% difference.

I thought the method itself was a far broader aproach, as if IBM declined a sertain responce for the further marked, that theese 3% was regarding the months of the wait. THUS where the widespread average TV architectural easily overcome. Despite the financial backbround from the cpu noice.

I actualy started to make a riddle for you, but then I thought; naah, heel never gonna try that!!

Welly welly, I gues im back to T1 for a while till I get my Centrino lappy.

One question though: can you explain easily to me how to make a send with the racks in T1?

Its cool, I'm no good at riddles. :ud:

The easiest way to make sends in T1 is to use Senderella (I think its ported to OSX but I'm not sure).
