I see in the Help files that T2 uses ASIO divers. I fired it up using Directsound drivers and it rebooted my computer when I hit the record button. I downloaded ASIO4ALL, uninstalled T2 and reinstalled it but now there is no record button, no edit tab at all, just project and settings tabs.

you have to open/create a project before an edit tab will appear - it's only there when an edit is open.
you need to open an edit first before you can go to it.

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

have you used T before?
editing an audio file uses an external editor. it's not an audio waveform editor, that task is left to the dedicated programs. you can edit audio of course, but on the edit page.
create a new project, which will have a default edit in it. open the EDIT, and you'll get the edit tab, so you can use the edit.
i'd recommend that you have a look in the user guide...

I tried T2 out about two months ago and I swear the first time i opened it i clicked on a red record button that was just sitting there waiting, not in a menu or something. it caused a reboot that very first time so I uninstalled it, thinking, man, what a piece of ...
Recently i had the same rebooting problem trying to capture video and audio off a VHS tape, so I figured I'd install T2 again to cross-check the problem. unfortunately, it seems I never get the same screen back that I thought I was using when I had the problem two months ago. something just doesn't seem the same. it's hard to remember what the screen looked like or what actually happened when the first thing you clicked on rebooted the 'puter. (really fast reboot, too, man. Like immediate. that kinda shit makes it hard to remember details two months later.)
but anyway, I'll read up before I ask more stupid questions. after that, though - watch out.
