Hi, I just dowloaded the traktion demo, because traktion seems to have all the features I need. Problem is when I add a vsti it doesnt play correctly at all. The sound is delayed and there are clicks going on. These same vsti's will play fine in standalone mode. I was going to buy the full version, but if I cant even use one vsti then whats the point. Oh and my CPU usage stays very low when playing them, so I dont think thats the problem. I'm running a P4 3.00 Ghz with 2gbs of ram. In my opinion this setup should be more than able to handle at least one vsti.

Hi ShaolinDrunkard, welcome to KvR.
Which soundcard are you using? What drivers? What latency? It sounds that either those settings are at fault.

I guess it could be because Im using a SB live 24bit. do I need a new souncard or some sort of patch/program. I adjusted the latency up from the middle, that did nothing. Then I put it down and that just made random noise when I hit the keys. But I usually keep it at the middle setting. Could it have something to do with ASIO. Im not sure how to mess with that or if my souncard supports it.

You will not get any accetable performance unless you will use ASIO. If your card does not support ASIO you can try:ShaolinDrunkard wrote:I guess it could be because Im using a SB live 24bit. do I need a new souncard or some sort of patch/program. 1) The kxproject drivers are alternative drivers for SoundBlaster cards that support ASIO quite well. Download and install them.
2) If your card is not supported by the kxproject drivers, or if you rather keep the original drivers for other purposes, try ASIO4All drivers.
After installing the drivers open Tracktion and select ASIO in the setting tabs. Lower the latency for something around 512 samples. Now try using your synths. Tweak the latency more to find the ideal setting for you (no crackles and least noticable latency).

That worked perfectly.
