I'm still using the ol' free tracktion that came out, i registered it and everything so I no longer get clicks/beeps whatever, however, when i record with a drum track, and i play it back, it's like the guitar i recorded was a full beat behind!! I know to take into the account of human error, but seriously, i've recorded this like a billion times and it's still the same! I read somewhere that you have to do a couple of tricks to get it to 'sense' itself or something and it'll fix the lag! Can somebody pleeeeeeeeease tell me how????
thanks in advance!

I can't see why there would be a lag between tracks unless you have a plugin in one of them with no delay compensation (Tracktion can't read it to compenste for latency). Do you have vst's on the guitar track?

Latency? Do you have an ASIO soundcard? What latency is reported? Did you configure it? Usually this type of problems have to do with incorrect latency settings (and compensation). I never got that right until I bought a decent soundcard.

i'm just using my built in sound card at the moment, from my NF7-s motherboard (it's got spdif too)

The onboard nVidia card (surprisingly) supports ASIO - but it only goes down to 672 samples (15 ms&44.1KHz).

You can try to select ASIO mode and set the latency to minimum, but it will probably won't be enough if your'e playing.

Try the ASIO4All drivers as an alternative.

But for playback this should be irrelevant.

i did the 'directsound' option when recording and playing back because when i select the nvidia asio, there's usually the little thing where i can move it onto a track to record onto that track. When I selected ASIO, there's nothing there to move onto a track to record on!

i also just downloaded this asio4all thing and i have no idea how to use it. It's the one with bush in the config panel when it says 'simple'.....

make sure you're restarting your device-- ASIO likes to 'hold on'. ;) I would even start Tracktion again from scratch.
