hey all - I'm in the market for a new keyboard controller - something with a synth action (RSI has made my Yamaha KX-88 a drag...) anyone out there using a novation ReMote or Korg Kontrol? Wondering if the transport buttons can be made to work etc etc... and any other thoughts welcome. Price no object!! (well not much of an object...)

I am using Novation X-Station (which is Remote Audio with firmware upgrade to be also a synth). First I got a Remote 25 but then I upgraded since I needed also an audio interface and a simple mixer to to control volume of monitors and headphones. I thought about the Korg because of the LCD display per parameter and the pads but the mini korg had to small keys (the Novation keys are great and with aftertouch) and it is not an audio interface or synth.

If I already had an audio interface and the Korg 49 keys with the large keys was availble I would prefer it to the Novation because of the LCDs and the looks.

I didn't test it yet with Tracktion...

I also have the Novation mentioned above (25 keys but available with more). It works fine with Tracktion and is able to control Tracktion's transport keys, though you'll need to decypher the manual--the transport keys have to be switched to MMC to control Tracktion. From what I gather from various posts here at KvR, not many keyboards can do MMC, so the Novation is a winner as far as I'm concerned. Recommended!

Also my 13 month old child is playing (with)it since he was born and having great fun, thats nice to have a synth built in (and a good one) without need for any software to setup...

If I didn't already have a Nova and external mixer, I'd buy an XStation 61.
