Sarcasm by all the responders to the original poster is not really called for. Win 98 is STILL used by many musicians, and is a LOT more stable than a badly-set up XP box. Also, Win98 uses far less system resources, requires a much lower-spec machine, and the bottom line - it's the choice of the the user. It should NOT be peer pressure or marketing pressure that forces someone to 'sidegrade' their OS just because it's newer.

And to all you doubters, Jules has already posted that he is working on making T2 compatible with Win98 in at least two other threads.... it's just a matter of time.

We doubters have already swallowed our humble pie when met with news that future releases will work on Win98, in case you didn't notice.

You couldn't be more wrong about the stability, though. OK, so you know of some stable Win98 machines and you know of some unstable WinXP machines. That's irrelevant to the facts, and is akin to saying that a perfectly-tuned SmartCar can beat a Ferrari with a broken timing belt. Well, of course it can.

But the assumption must be made that on two properly-configured systems, WinXP is by far the stability champion, out of all Windows flavours.

Jules may be working on it, but I don't think anyone could blame him if he weren't. It's not like T1 came out when W98 was new and there is a huge legacy userbase to support or anything. I figure if M$ has stopped supporting it, developers of new software shouldn't support it either

Also, w98 is what, 7 years old? An upgrade from w98-->xp home is
only about $130 or so. I would also expect that someone would have upgraded computers at least once in seven years.

Like it or not, upgrading is sometimes necessary.
