installing should be easy...not have to jump through hoops! :) I runs Logic Pro 7 with a Mac...guess I'm out of luck!

Yes Phil will be the VSTI to make me feel complete.

Then my collection will be:
SS2 & ST2XL & Symphony Strings (on the way - kind of slow that American post office, btw. :D )
Omnisynth
Hypersonic
Groove Agent
Virtual Guitarist
Virtual Guitarist EE
Halion 2
VSL Chamber Strings
Philharmonik

That'll be enough for a hobby musician like me. At least for 1 year, or maybe 6 months or maybe 3 months or maybe.... :D

Well, maybe 6 months before I feel the urge to get something like Stylus RMX :D. I need these beat tools, cause I don't have a good feeling for creating my beats from scratch.

...! Nice collection, telebunke!

I'm going to pick up Stylus RMX if I ever start making any money with my music. I won't get it anytime before that, since I can make my own percussion tracks just fine (in fact I have something of a flare for that particularly piece of the creative process ;)) but RMX is the type of tool that you use in every project and is a HUGE time-saver - on the verge of being cheating (a la straight loops) but the way it handles it is less loop-like but more phrase-like.

Are are there any (preliminary) screenshots of CSR yet?

To Squids (and anyone who's had experience with it) - Would you recommend it to someone as THE software reverb to get if they did not have any, regardless of price?

EDIT: Never mind to the first question - I just found CSR in the effects menu.

tele,

Are you sure you can blame the USPS ? My package took 6 days to get to England - possibly the fastest ever delivery I've experienced by Global Priority :o

Usually such things take about 9-14 days but this was exceptionally fast. So maybe you should ask your own national post office if they know anything about it :(

Yeah, Tele. That sounds like it is taking a little long there. You should get it soon. But, if for any reason you don't get it by this time next week then we may have to resend and verify correct addresses etc. Let us know.

To answer a few questions:

Is CSR THE reverb to get? That is a tough question really. I'd say that in many ways the answer would be yes. It is fun to have a convolution reverb too but then there's always SIR and things like that. I personally would rather have a good digital reverb that is as close as possible to the best hardware reverbs than a funky convolution reverb as my main one. They take up a lot of CPU and have delay issues plus they are best for only certain applications and almost a little bit of a gimmick sometimes. However, don't get me wrong. I LOVE my AltiVerb and Space Designer. But, they aren't my default reverbs that I use. I now use CSR. I also like Real Verb and True Verb though too. But, CSR is definitely a good one to say "Okay, I've got a REALLY good reverb! Now what ELSE do I need?". You know? It's like getting a Lexicon or an AMS reverb (except affordable) which you know everyone is going to like in your studio.

Oh, regarding Stylus RMX. Let's see. How can I put this without revealing something I am not supposed to... hmmmmm. Well... let's just say that if you are a little bit patient there is something coming from us that will do more things along those lines. The Smilus THX will be coming soon. :) :D

Oh boy, oh boy, OH BOY!

After using ST2 and SS2 for a week (not as much as I'd like to), I'm starting to fall in love with IK's products.... In the future, I'm going to buy a laptop...buy a keyboard controller...and load all of IK's stuff in it...that would replace ANY keyboard workstation out there hands down! :)

These loops will blow your mind too. I've never heard any loops commercially available that sound like these. I wish I could say more about it but I need to CHILL before I get into some trouble. ;)

Blow my mind...as much as you like! I like being blown away.... Just don't blow my wallet away...

RMX and all those Xpahsion sounds = lots of money....

As far as new products goes, I'm guessing that you're going to announce them at Summer NAMM...which is about a month away...take some videos...show it to us (for those who can't be there....)

sounds cool. I gotta be a little patient anyway. I already spent $4000 this year, so I gotta get some rest and time to breathe anyway. Plus I havent't really had the time to really play with all the new gimmicks.
I though the VST title would not be Smilus THX, but maybe Squids Beats. :D

If it costs less than RMX, then I'm interested :) (at some point, hahah - nowhere in the near future, but I expect it won't be released anytime soon anyway?)

Although quite honestly... I don't know what kind of crazy features an IK loopslicer/drumsampler would have to have to be able to compete with RMX. But I won't ask that :P I know I won't get an answer - we'll all see when it comes out.

But I must ask ONE question... would this "Smilus THX" be able to load the loops that came with ST2XL, so I can finally get them sliced up and get them to make themselves useful? :D

That may be the surprise, that ST2.1 will include that already and the included loops are pre-sliced.

Well, I will only say this. For sample playback technology, IK has a much more powerful engine in terms of time stretching and formant preserving Stretch. So from a technology standpoint it wouldn't be hard to make something more powerful and flexible. From a sound standpoint it would be more a matter of taste I think. I tend to go more towards flexibility of production and Eric tends to give it to you more produced. Of course, one of the benefits of IK's effects is that we can give it to you BOTH ways instead of processing at the sample level which is often what Spectrasonics does. However, there's no question that people love Spectrasonics' sound so at least if it is going to be done that way it is good stuff right out of the gate. I think that is one of the reasons it is so popular. But, you can imagine that if we are going to bother to get into that arena of loops that it would be a cut above the rest (npi) otherwise there'd be no point.

Can't say more than that but stay tuned... ;)

Don't call it squids beats. The visual image is just too vivid of someone slapping a wet crustacean against a bucket and sampling it (a bit like the snare sound in "someone saved my life tonight" by Elton John)
Three shall be the number of the counting

And the number of the counting shall be three.

No Squids Beats or Smilus as the name. It has a preliminary name but I can't say it yet so... I think I am out of teaser bullets. ;)
