Is there anyway to record the midi output of a guitar controller that produces midi information on 6 independent channels at one time? It seems to strip the channel info and channelize it to a single channel. I'm trying the demo version of T2. Is it different in the full version or am I doing something wrong?

I'm afraid I can't be of much help, but I don't believe Tracktion on it's own can do what you're asking. However, with routing with MidiOX, you shold be able to do it.
I could be of more help if I'd have used MidiOX in the last two years, but I'm sure one of our resident experts will be along shortly

You could try using energyXT as a filter in T2.dstephenson wrote:Is there anyway to record the midi output of a guitar controller that produces midi information on 6 independent channels at one time? Energy XT lets you specify the number of multiple inputs and outputs for audio parts, not sure about multiple midi parts.
EnergyXT has a forum here at kvr, try asking the experts there if and how EnergyXT would do the job for you.
Might be worth a try.

MIDI-OX with MIDI-YOKE will do the trick.
You just create 6 virtual midi ports, one for each string.

And route each midi port to an individual track? Thanks for the workaround. I was hoping to be able to include it all on one track, but this is better than nothing. I'll let you know if it works.AndrewSimon wrote:MIDI-OX with MIDI-YOKE will do the trick.

You can route all of them to one port if you wish.dstephenson wrote:And route each midi port to an individual track? Thanks for the workaround. You will just change channels and send them all to the same port.
You can achieve almost anything midi related with MIDI-OX and MIDI-YOKE.

If you just want to force all incoming midi to one channel you can do it very easily with a plug called:
MIDI Channeliser
Get it from:

Actually the problem is that the guitar controller sends info on 6 different channels (mainly because each string needs independent pitch bend info). Forcing them all to one channel screws this up. I actually like the idea of splitting each string onto their own track because editing would be easier. It would be nice if T2 included folders so that I could close the 6 tracks unless I needed to edit it. I've seen that this is a much requested feature so hopefully by 2.1 it will be there.AndrewSimon wrote:If you just want to force all incoming midi to one channel you can do it very easily with a plug called:
