Yeah, but the one biggest past gripe doesn't exist any more, ie. CPU use. (this was my big gripe) It appears it is much more frugal on the CPU, and with freeze how could anyone complain? I wonder what people will choose now to use as the deal-breaker for considering it a worthy application.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

i wonder meself, cause folks were talking so much about the quality of the sound and according to all accounts the new warping engine sounds and functions stuningly.

Yeah, I can't wait to try it out.

Sad to say I don't have any :( but I noticed some NI plugs are being reported on the beta forum. On the other hand, I saw that Reaktor 5 is working - multiple instances - which didn;t work in Live 4, so that's good news. Reaktor is possibly on my shopping list, judging by reviews and feedback I have seen :-o
I've found a bazillion bugs, but the Abletons have the best beta process I've seen yet. They crush bugs with stunning efficiency.
Yeah. I really believe that they are in a different league from "the others" here. Only excepetion that comes to mind is eXT, I guess. Until 18 months or so ago, Tracktion used to have that level of support too, but in the last year it went pear shaped for some reason. I hope that Ableton never lose the plot like that... I don't think they will though - top guys all around! :)
The bugs aside, this is going to be THE killer release I think. At this point I can use live for like 90% of what I'm doing, and that makes me smile :)
Yep, agree there too. This is the one that puts an end to all arguments and resistance is now futile :hihi:

True.

From the e-mail...

Now with improved MIDI jitter!

HI

Any news on the Midi side of things - in particular editing in the piano roll?

Flipper.

Post

I've no idea, flipper. I'm only on their mailing list because I participated in their last public beta.

The big showstopper for me was the lack of a "Get user goove" feature.

Does it have PDC now too?

Flipper.
Two things I noticed straight away (not announced in the publicity blurb)...

1. You can listen to notes as you enter them (a major request for some, I know!) 8) . Simply activate a button at the top left of the piano roll to preview your editing as you go.

2. Quantise value is shown numerically in the bottom right of the piano roll.

Also - VERY important to me - you can now set a metronome count in before recording. At last! A small but very significant improvement :D

Yes. And delay/compensation is specifically shown/detailed in the mixer section (which as usual you can hide/show, like the other elements).

You can use or disable PDC according to your needs.

I've not tested this, and I don't have a lot of latency inducing plugs, anyway, but it looks like a well-thought out and elegant solution.

...basically you select a track/mixer channel, go to the edit menu and seledct "freeze track". All the clips in that track become frozen (i.e. a background render is done). BUT - and this is the really good bit - you can still launch those clips in real time... LIVE  And this also means of course that you can completely rearrange your material 8)
