Midi output problems!

I'm a newbee to Tracktion 2, and being a Reason & Fruity Loops Veterian, I thought I would be able to load the software, set my devices, and play. WRONG! I can see the signal meter light up when I hit my synth, but I do not hear anything! I can record midi (not hearing what I'm playing), and play back hearing what I couldn't hear when I was recording!

What gives? I tried every device in settings, and could not correct the issue. I have no problems in Reason or Fruity Loops.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robby

Click on your midi input device and check end to end ;-)

Make sure that the end to end option in the lower right hand corner of the screen is on as well.

Thanks for the Tip, but it did not work. Am I doing something Wrong? I Dropped the VST in Track 1, I play a few keys and see the signal, but still cannot hear it. I have e to e on, and I know it can't be my devices since they work in other programs.

Depending on what the vst is, and what channel it's expecting to hear, you might be sending midi on the wrong channel. Try selecting the midi clip you've recorded, and look at the properties panel down the bottom. Is "Channel" set to 1? If not, try setting it to 1. If it is, try the other 15 channels, see if you get any sound.

If that doesn't help, try another vst, eg from the MDA plugins group that come with Tracktion, try the MDA JX10 synth.

If that doesn't work, can you get any sound from Tracktion at all? From wav files?
"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"
