if you are really enterprising you might use tapeit or audiohijack to record the outputs of the masterbuss and do phasereverse tests...

I don't need to do phase reverse tests, I can clearly hear the difference.. I need to know why there's a difference..

Its now my standard dither test: very low level snare sample (approx -50dB) through long reverb, with the results normalised in Soundforge to make listening less scary. (Tip: if you turn up your monitors loud enough to clearly hear 16bit dither noise, make sure you have first disabled windows alerts!
)
