Quite apt I thought..Noun 1. pleb - one of the common people
plebeian
common people, folk - people in general; "they're just country folk"; "the common people determine the group character and preserve its customs from one generation to the next"
common man, common person, commoner - a person who holds no title
lowbrow, philistine - a person who is uninterested in intellectual pursuits

I don't seem to be in any hole though.. Why should I care if I offend you? I'm just another T user, though admittedly not a common proletariat one like you..

Headquest... I just wanted to be clear that I was not intending to "pick a fight." It was just the statement that implied things would be resolved faster didn't vibe with me. The ableton comparision is wonderful and all (hell, I have my beta version in hand too), but it really doesn't apply here. Since the demo release of tracktion, there have clearly been bugs reported, but that doesn't equate to things moving faster, as the circumstances are totally different. Yes, Live has blossomed as a model of efficiency in terms of resolving bugs... nonetheless, that's Live. Hopefully things will reach that point here as well...
(general statement)
Honestly, I would like to see Tracktion succeed... unfortunately, I find that there is an underlying tone here to somewhat ruthlessly attack Mackie again and again. When as a whole, they have been very polite in there interface with the users of this forum. It just doesn't seem the most effective way to encourage a positive change. Shit, now I've shifted topics...
I'll shut up, now back into my hole.

Unfortunately, it seems to me most of the reasons for Tracktion's troubles stem from the relationship with MackieModuLR wrote: Honestly, I would like to see Tracktion succeed... unfortunately, I find that there is an underlying tone here to somewhat ruthlessly attack Mackie again and again.

You've only just discovered this now? Most forum members had figured it out ages ago. On the other hand, they have ALSO noted that I'm helpful, supportive, inquisitive, and willing to admit my own failings. All in all not such a bad guy. So-- yes, you're right, I AM a self-righteous bugger sometimes, but it's not my defining characteristic.audiobot202 wrote:You know Lunch Money, you're a self righteous bugger sometimes.
I haven't the foggiest what you're talking about. I don't "incessantly" defend Tracktion, and just recently I noted my disappointment that I (as a Canadian customer) still haven't been able to buy the boxed version. In this particular thread, I wasn't defending Tracktion in the least. I was merely pointing out WHY some people might have taken things personally... and YOUR "smarmy... there are 2 sides to every story" comment was the trigger for it.Self proclaimed champion of reason that you claim to be, you incessantly defend Tracktion, as if it were your own, and resort to the bland shield of reason to blunt any offensives that might be thrown your way.
Most of the time when I SEEM to be simply defending Tracktion, what I'm doing is keeping points in check. When people say, "The dropped note bug is something I'd like to see fixed" I would be very inclined to say, "Yup, same here." But when people say, "The dropped note bug is rendering my every effort with Tracktion USELESS! I can't tolerate another second of it and I can't believe it's taking everyone so damned long!" etc. etc. then I step up and say, "Whoah the bus... here are things you can do in order to get Tracktion to work for now."
Read more carefully, and instead of blindly assuming that everything I say is a mere unsupported defense, you will VERY QUICKLY see that it's a person's tone and attitude I usually have a problem with; not the actual complaint they've submitted.
YES! That was my effing point. You questioned ME why I bothered to post. That's it, that's all. My only point was, "Well... it IS a forum, after all." YES, I'm tired of the same circular arguments, but that wasn't the point I was making. And then right after YOU asked ME "Why did you bother posting" you made my very point FOR me! That was my only agenda. This is a forum, therefore, one may post circles, squares or any other measure of geometry that you care to mention. I have my opinion of Mackie and their distribution methods and I know there are many people who actually do agree with me. Customers complain all the time. These are pretty valid complaints I feel and if you disagree and feel so wearied then keep your beak out of it and reserve your rational approach for something more interesting.
Sheesh.
From what I could tell, headquest had the circular part of the argument well in check without your snyde comments.
I may be a self-righteous ass at times, but you're a tiresome and adversarial tit at times, too. I wear my shoes just fine; I suggest you start wearing yours too. They fit perfectly, after all.

yes.. criticism is good. I'm not suggesting sitting in silence... but how productive can it be when the point has clearly been made. Is it really productive to continue reiteratting it repeatedly? Are the boat load of slants really helpful in any way? There is definately a difference in being critical and constructive.. vs. critical and destructive.braj wrote:Unfortunately, it seems to me most of the reasons for Tracktion's troubles stem from the relationship with MackieSo I don't know about 'ruthlessness' or even 'attacks', but criticism seems warranted IMO. We all want to see Tracktion succeed. Pointing out what pitfalls appear before it seems productive IMO.

ModulR - Someone from Mackie posted that as a public company they can't post on the forum as often as they would like though a lot of them read the forum etc etc.
I think its a shame that some kind of company policy inhibits communication with the user community - I think that the tone around here would improve dramatically if we had more communication from the mothership.

mackie does what THEY think is best. no matter if we are rude, polite, patient, impatient, offering fr, bug reports, making proposals, dicussing things. the only time i thought someone seems to care a bit about the userbase was when beno was around. till now i haven't made my mind about ken. he could be interested in comunication or in calming us down for preventing negative publicity ( i really don't know till now). i just what to say it's allways difficult to find the right temper to talk to someone who didn't talk much and isn't really a participant of a discussion. this should not be an excusion for beeing rude, but feelings aren't allways logical.
