Hello everyone.

I just got myself a MOTU 896HD and am thinking of using it with Tracktion 2. I am currently trying out with demo version. Things go fine at the start but shortly after I begin my tests, the sounds goes all wonky. I think this happens after the hiss and all note off message is sent. When this happens, the output is completely distorted until I reset. Any idea if this will go away with the registered version? I'm hoping I won't be putting money into a software/hardware combination that won't work together.

I'm using an HP nc6000 notebook with a PCMCIA firewire adapter card.

All information will be very much welcome. Thank you.

simon.

Just saw that the MOTU 896HD was not compatible with my FireWire card which has the NEC chipset. So that is probably the problem.

well, there you have it. you should be ready to go, once you change that sound card out for a compatible model.

good luck!

i actually tried it with my m-audio mobile pre which is compatible and has asio drivers and the system hung when i tried recording the 4th track. song is really short, just 10 seconds really. any ideas?

Do you have 'use realtime priority mode' checked in the settings page? If so, turn it off..

I think its something to do with thread priorities.. most sytems seem to be stabler with it off.
