bbe sonic maximizer vst problem

i got sonic maximizer free with t2 yesterday from mf. the thing is when I put in the sonic max on a track, it will give a digital squeal, which slowly fades away. Then when I press play, it takes a while for the effect to take place, as if the effect is being faded in. I've tried reinstalling to no avail. Anyone else see this with t2 and sonic max?

lharless: You actually took time out of your day to post that drivel? A new guy posts about a problem he's having and you're just laughing at him and telling him he's screwed and ripped off. I'm sure he found your reply very helpful.
underbiteman: I wish I could help you out, but I don't have that plugin. I'm sure someone here must have tried it though. I would think that if others had experienced that squealing it surely would have been mentioned here at some point.

lharless: Well, I got SM for free with T2 so I don't really feel ripped off. Maybe a little peeved. What's wrong with ordering stuff from MF? They have the same crap as any another online stores.
dto: Way to put the smack down. haha. I was a bit surprised that I didn't find anything about it in the forum. I think I'll try it in Live and see if the same thing occurs. Thanks.

rivrock: I realized that when I have final mix on the main fader, SM starts with loud noise and fades. When I don't have FM on, then I get the same result as you (a loud pop when you first place SM on the track)
I tried it on Live 4 and I get a similar thing happening, so I guess it's SM not T2. In Live, if you put SM on the track during playback, it works fine, but if you put it on while stopped, it'll give a slight pop with the output meter of the plugin staying at clipping for a while and then receding.
I didn't really see any updates on the BBE site. Is there somewhere else where an update could be located?

It's a bit of a problem to me because I don't want sudden clipping noises blowing the tweeter on my $800 monitors. Plus, shouldn't we consumers expect a bit more?

Yeah, I guess. I'm wondering how the peeps who paid $100 for these plugs are feeling.

Haha - if I could ever have figured out how to buy a genuine VST plug-in from the Cakewalk website I could probably tell you - because I tried a few times.
Never could figure that site out though.

Strange. I don't hear a noise. Neither on the digitally connected surround-receiver, nor on the active speakers.underbiteman wrote:It's a bit of a problem to me because I don't want sudden clipping noises blowing the tweeter on my $800 monitors. Plus, shouldn't we consumers expect a bit more?
I only see a peak in the frequency domain and in the phase-display in PAZ and iirc, the normal level meters don't react, too.

For me the noise doesn't occur if the track doesn't have any wave files on it. In this case I get the same thing as you, no noise, just clipping on the output meter of SM. But if it's put on a track that already has a wave file on it, then it will produce a pop noise.

Here's the response I got from cakewalk:
"We have not been notified of any update as of yet. Click here for more
support options with BBE:
http://www.bbesound.com/products/maxim/newplugin.asp"
So basically a brushoff. I haven't heard anything from BBE. Maybe I'm spending too much time on a plugin that I might end up not using very much.
