But do go and get it. Several issues with the freeze are listed as solved now

Just curious - what do you feel Reason offers that you can't get from Live + VSTs?headquest wrote:I already abandoned my linear sequencer (Tracktion 2) because I was getting no joy with it. Each to their own, of course.
But I'll still be using Sibelius, Reason and Audition - perfect complements to Live 5's feature set.![]()
I do think that Live 5 is very much a full-on DAW.
CPU savings, besides if you already own Reason you don't need to buy more synths/samplers. And Combinator is cool. I personally find Reason to be a very dynamic 'instrument' for me and it is really easy for me to get exactly the sounds I want from it, whereas I have a harder time getting what I want from a lot of VSTis.kuniklo wrote:Just curious - what do you feel Reason offers that you can't get from Live + VSTs?headquest wrote:I already abandoned my linear sequencer (Tracktion 2) because I was getting no joy with it. I mostly use Reason instead of VSTs. I think that you get a decent rack of gear for a good price with Reason, basically. I like all the modules in it, and when I priced up alternatives I found I would need to spend significantly more to get the VST equivalents I would personally go for.kuniklo wrote: Just curious - what do you feel Reason offers that you can't get from Live + VSTs?
I love RedrumRawTheory wrote:headquest, is there a specific reason why Reasons Redrum doesn't get the job done for ya
Yep... what he saidbraj wrote: CPU savings, besides if you already own Reason you don't need to buy more synths/samplers. And Combinator is cool. About a week, then everyone's in!zion15 wrote:i do hope more beta serials are distributed soon.
Makes sense.braj wrote:One more thing about using Reason and Live in combination: you have one consistent UI concept for all your synths. I have a second LCD monitor set up 'sideways' and at 768x1024, Reason's rack fits the screen perfectly, so I always have my synths in view. I still use VSTis, but Reason makes me feel like I have some sort of consistent 'hardware' set up.
I haven't had any problems with Live 4 and Kontakt. What specfically is the issue?ericj23 wrote: and does it still not like sample tank and kontakt ?
Yes, you do, but it's hardly a hassle! You simply click "yes" in the "Save?" box when Reason shuts downkuniklo wrote: Isn't rewire kind of a hassle? Don't you have to save the Live set and the Reason file separately and make sure you keep them in sync?
I just have a standard rack set up as my default Reason template and don't save off songs in Reason, so there isn't anything to keep in sync. All the midi stuff is done in Live and I render to audio a lot as well. Also, I believe Live5 allows you to freeze Rewire tracks so I'm guessing this will become even easier to deal with.kuniklo wrote:Makes sense.braj wrote:One more thing about using Reason and Live in combination: you have one consistent UI concept for all your synths. Just asking. I've never done this myself.
