Well, my ..gic is running 100% stable and I'm enjoying quite some plugins.
Seriously, some of them will be seriously missed once I'll buy a Mac.

And on another serious note: The last Apple/Intel news will most likely make me wait for quite another 1-2 years (I may get some used G4 in the meantime, to stay up to date, we'll see) to update my main audio machine to a Mac. I might even get another PC meanwhile.
I was almost prepared to make the switch next winter, but now I'll rethink it. I'd just be annoyed to see better performing Macs shortly after purchasing one.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Is that what you were trying to spell? You seemed to give up after only a few letters...

Ok... the work on the oscillators is pretty much finished!

Here's an example... this tune is made with 3 raw prototypes of Z2 that features 1 Oscillator, 2 Envelopes and 1 LFO. NO FILTERS! NO PHYSICAL MODELING!

http://www.u-he.com/music/Zebra2OSC.mp3

All you hear is basically 1 Oscillator per voice, using different ways to *bend* the waveforms...

The drums come from UltraBeat, the delay on the Space Guitar (yes, there's no filter...) is Logic's Stereo Delay. An ADLimiter on master prevents clipping.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Yeah... it is... but it's also bad... I keep playing the space guitar stuff for hours and hours, so there goes the time scheduled for development...

Someone really ought to take his toys away so that he can code faster!!!!

Oh wait....he can make his own toys...well there goes that idea.

Thank God It's Friday!

I'm currently implementing the Grid for the new engine in order to tame the modular aspects. Otherwise adding those 30 modules would be no fun... Works beautifully so far, but I'm still at two oscillators for prototyping...

However, here's a variation of the Space Guitar (one osc), a squelchy bass (both oscs) and a wavetablish synth (one osc): Z2WaveMangle.mp3. Other plugs: UltraBeat, 2 x Logic Stereo Delay, 1 x ADLimiter. The bass sound kinda randomly morphs through different spectrums...

Did I mention that the Grid channels and all processing will be fully stereo in Z2?!?

Cheers,

;) Urs

Actually, I think it is refreshing that you can find so much enjoyment in the development process. While I wait on Z2, I am not losing sleep over it. This thread has been very entertaining.

We would have missed all this fun had the Zebra-PC group buy gone off as planned !!
