Thanks for mentioning SectionZ.com. We're currently rewriting the entire site and the new site is going to be awesome. We're very proud of what we've come up with for a new design so far we really hope everyone will love it!

We're also ditching all the 'rules' on SZ so people wont have to worry about reviewing things, premium members will get to deep link, etc. it's going to be a very cool place when it's finished

Deep Linking means you get a direct URL to your track so you can post a link to it on different forums, your website, etc.

A lot of sites don't allow for it because when links are spread around the internet, theres a lot of people downloading the track and it costs a lot of bandwidth.

At sectionz.com we haven't been able to allow any Deep Linking because we just haven't been able to cope with the cost of bandwidth, but with our new site we will allow it for our Premium Members ($25 a year).

Although even if you are not a premium member, people will will still be able to download your tracks, they'll just have to visit your artist page and then download it from there (this is how the site is currently anyway).

The new site is going to rock! It'll be much easier to navigate and get around, find new music and other artists, and customize your artist page to make a place you can call your own. We're cleaning up and making room for some cool new stuff that is really going to be great.

Jonny X quoth speed has the auditorium, its not the best place to get listens, but you can post it there and u can direct people to it. Whats up with soundclick

Note : As of quite recently you have to be a member at the auditorium to listen to stuff hosted there.

1st of the month and going to try again with the open download - but you need to register to upload (free easy - no flashing ads etc)

Hey Spe3d,

I just checked and your account was deleted. What happens now if you have no tracks or anything uploaded and then you're inactive for a year it cleans the account.

Well done Spe3d, lets see how it goes. How do you find people direct linking? Is it pure luck, or have you got some sort of tracking logs on d/l'd files?

In answer to your question,
Every file that is uploaded is unique – each file can be traced if its being linked directly in a site/forum (sometimes guys post their pics in bloggs for example) or worse the links disguised in their website as coming from their website but infact downloaded as a direct link from the auditorium. In the stats they stand out like a sore thumb – it takes me nanno seconds to spot and the site from which they are linked, a direct linked file is a mega difference to the bandwidth.

So in short – yes I can tell who, what, when and where – even the why
