I am happy to say I am hooked and would like to join team tracktion.

I was using Vegas Pro (never upgraded beyond b/c I felt they were focussing more and more on the video end and less on the audio). Anyway that first release of Vegas was so sleek and could do so much more than its bloatware competition. I got 6 years of use out of the same version but decided it was finally time to move on.

Demoed all the other big sequencers and didn't like the fact that they were all so bloated with features and low on workflow efficiency. Tracktion is like Vegas's yonger brother with the addition of good stuff like midi, VSTi support, ASIO, rewire (imagine having no midi and not even having rewire to make up for it!!), and control surface support (most of which vegas either took to long to implement or doesn't have).

Vegas Pro still has some features which Tracktion doesn't have. Some of which are multi-format support (mpeg1, mp3, and much more), drag and drop import, resizing of tracks, minute resolution grid lines, and some other stuff which is mostly addressed on the FR thread.

I am really happy with the Tracktion and though I have been only using it for about a month I can already tell I am going to be a loyal user.

Oh, and great forum too. Everyone has been very helpful.

Welcome to T town, virtualsamana! Was a Vegas refugee myself not too long ago. Vegas Audio 2. Horrible what Sony did to it, worse than what ****** did to *********. You're going to find being a Tracktioneer is way more fun. T really is the smarter, wittier, better looking brother. I only go to Vegas now when I need to gamble with mp3/wma files.

Enjoy our meek, mild forum here, where the motto is: ...umm...Oh right, we never could agree on a motto. :D

Have fun!
perception: the stuff reality is made of.
