Yes, I have noticed this also, but there is really no difference between 5.19 and 5.20, or 5.25.
We are talking about 1/100 db. Most people can't hear less than a 1 db difference let alone 1/10th or 1/100th.
Forget it.

you could always add a new vol/pan filter and automate the newly decided rise on that. if you decide against it you can throw it away.
but i agree with PT about the small differences being insignificant. more importantly though, at the end of the day it's about how it sounds, and you should adjust the values to what is going on in the mix, not a number that is arbitrary anyway. in the time expired since you first happened upon that number, other elements may have been added that warrant a change in mix levels anyway.

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

it would be nice just to be able to type in the db number rahter than dragging in any case...

my preferred FR has always been for automation record to also work when playback is stopped. Any automation changes would simply be written as a hard (ie not ramped) change at the current cursor position.

So most people should be able to hear a 1db difference.
Ok I just threw that in to be annoying, my real point was going to be that those micro difference would matter when you were altering something like pitch...
(sorry to be a butt PT)

I dont think anybody would disagree that there shold be a way to input exact values.ttoz wrote:
I propose and hope Jules is reading:
1) Clicking on an automation node will actually display its current value in a field where you can type in precisely what you want
2) a simple alt key for example is implemented to drag finer.
Does anyone disagree?
I ran into the same problem as you with T1, so I got in the habit of putting a point where the automation is supposed to start, and where its supposed to end. "Surrounding" the automation area, then I could go nuts within the two points and it wouldnt bother the original levels. Works great for me.
