setting track midi channel

Hello, maybe I'm asking for obvious answer.. I've got a multi timbre kontakt rack setup, and now I'm trying to send different MIDI channels to it.
I understand that I can set MIDI channels on a per object basis in T2. But, when I select more than one object, the only option I have is to merge the objects. I guess I can merge, and then set midi channel. But I'll end up with a huge midi object that represents my entire track. (which beats the purpose of having objects in the first place) My goal is to set MIDI channels on a track basis, which kind of sounds simple to me.
So, is there any way to set MIDI channels other than clicking object by object? Kind of a lame detail to miss, if there's no easier way. Considering how many people use multi-timbral VSTis these days.. But anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

[edit] - actually I'm not sure what I posted is correct so I need to check it.

Hmm, I'm sure I've managed to group select a bunch of clips and apply a global midi channel to them before, but I'll be damned if I can see how I could have managed it. Either way, it seems like an oversight that the midi channel option is not available when more than one clip is selected.
I'll raise it as a feature request.

well, i've manually selected and changed the channels for my project, and the multi-timbral thing is working. I found that during midi recording, if I change the channel on the master keyboard, then the object midi channel will change correspondingly. Not really a workaround though... I hope this gets solved soon.
Strange no one's brought it up!

Try putting your sampler in a rack filter. Then you can drag instances of the rack filter to the output stage of multiple midi tracks, but only one sampler will be used for all of them. I also do this to split a single drum machine between multiple tracks so that I can apply post effects to individual drum instruments more easily.

another nag I found with midi objects was that I couldn't select multiple objects and set quantize. Or well, I guess the basic problem is that the only action you can take after selecting multiple objects is merge.
