Using a Knob Box

Hi Musers

Got the 1.3 installed, but still rather shaky on how I can use the new CC features for knob box control.

so..heres what I want to do

1.I have my knob box ( UC-16) set up like this for each knob

Knob 1= CC01
Knob 2=CC02
Knob 3=CC03

ect ..all the way to Knob 16=CC16

2.I bring up a synth I want to control: ex Novation V-station

3.I want to assign CC01 to mod wheel ( the usual assignment anyway) but then have cc02 control Filter cutoff, cc02 for resonance, cc03 for Filter Mod, cc04 for Env Attack, ect. How do I assign whatever CC's I want for each parameter?

4.Is it possible that whenever I bring up this synth, the CC's assigned are still in place..or is by patch by patch only?

It would be great to pull up a synth and my knob box is all set up for controlling it. How do ya do it ( in simple terms :-)

Are you talking about the CC's being displayed in the "Parameter Order" box? Only displaying the CC numbers is new. Otherwise this feature was there since version 1.

The CC's you can use for a synth are 16 to 31. The easiest way to do this is to start with the synth, then set up the box.

1. Let's say you have "Cheeze Machine" on Receptor Channel 1 (I don't have Novation V-Station). Go to the Edit view. Click on the middle icon to go into "Learn" mode.

2. Move the "Attack" knob. You should see "Attack Time" in the parameter name field in the top part of the window. Click on the arrow to the right of the parameter name field. The arrow should turn yellow and the number "1" should appear to the right of the arrow.

3. Repeat for the "Release" and "Brightness" knobs. These should have number "2" and "3" assigned.

4. Click on the number (the top right most field). In the "Parameter Order" box you will see the CC numbers that you can use. CC 16 for "Attack Time" and so on.
