I hope soon... ;)
Was working on other things.
Moreover if someone thinks that Midiworks examples are unfair for Amplitube or GR can take the dry recordings and upload better ones. In such a case it would be a fairplay move if Midiworks added them to his comparisons page.
No problem !
Each first take of the demos is the dry take.
Anyone can use them and present better GR or AT presets.

I will be happy to add them to the page,
as long as the fxp/patch file proves its done with those amps.
Just to make sure the files are not run through a Boogie or such first. :hihi:

Finally I had a guitar played pluged into my PC soundcard's audio in and play the amp. :)

I ask him, how does it feel and how does the amp react to his playing.
He said it feels like a real amp... :o

While he was playing we talked and I adjusted a few things.

Here you can hear how the amp reacts to his playing:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/7/rockm ... _music.htm

I simply hit record, what he did'nt noticed while testing
the interaction between his hands, guitar and amp. ;)

What he played is totally secondary,
he was testing the reactions of the amp and thats what you hear.

Added was:
Compressor
Chorus
Delay

btw. Nobody posted any GR or AT demos... :?

Sounds good Midiworks esp. if you are into heavy sounds. Can't say anything more right now cause I am on a mission http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1239152

Sounds like a hair-metal amp from 1986 with no evidence of dynamics at all.

Is that the kind've sound that people are after?

I am not into metal (heavy nor hair) but lots of people are. So if it sounds like "a hair-metal amp from 1986" this will be good for them. Regarding dynamics, they usually are lost with THAT much drive and of course the playing technique and the guitar itself play a crucial role.
Still waiting for convincing bell-like clean or semi-driven sounds from an amp sim.

'Metal' guitar sounds have changed a huge amount since the 80s; I don't think there are many people who would be looking for the kind've sound featured there.

Yeah, I know that dynamics are lost with a load of drive; that's my point. The sound on that clip is pretty-much achievable with 99% of amp-sims.

I really don't follow the metal scene so can't comment on that. Last "metal" I 've heard is from Sabbath, Zeppelin and Motorhead (and I know this is not metal)

You're probably right. I didn't try it

An 80s hair-metal sound?

You're kidding, surely?

Post

An 80s hair-metal sound no,
but any VST amp sim that can give you that sound.
Thats what I would love to hear,
pick the VST of your choise, play and post that file.

I am sure many would apreciate to hear such a sound clip. ;)

I don't follow.

Obviously no amp-sim is going to sound exactly the same, but you can get most amp-sims to do generic 80s metal like your clip. Since the sound of your clip isn't (unless I'm completely wrong) a sound that is particularly and specifically in demand, why would you imagine that it would be one that other amp-sim designers would strive for?

I'm confused.

Midiworks, championrabbit or anyone reading this thread: I started this http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 50#1239350 thread in order to post-hear examples of good guitar tones (made with whatever plugin, hardware unit or real amp) and discuss. So, it would be more porductive if we post something there and let our ears judge

That is the sound I am looking for in a real amp. So, if this emulation will sound that way, I will for sure try it out and think about buying it.
