<long rant>No, thanks to you (mostly) this was the most self-centered month (on your behalf) I have ever seen. I don't care how much talent you've got. You rip out the heart and soul of the participants in these contests with your supreme "The contest is about major label bla bla bla" statements.
For me, this contest is about getting an idea across. Look, I got 1 point this month...down from 58 or so in my last effort. Yet almost all the reviews I got were favorable. That's good! It means I made something unique. I don't give a flying f**k if it is signed by anyone.
The theme of these compos are as arbitrary as bird droppings. I tend to view the theme as a certain limitation but I don't care if I actually manage to fit within it or not, because at the end of the day what matters is how happy I am with my entry.
The point being: I'm not in this to win. I am here to listen to what all the other folks here can make. I write reviews (that takes about half a day). I get majorly pissed off by people who just use this place to dump their picture off and brag as if they own half the world. They ruin the fun and childish thrill in this contest.
Because, let's face it, most people here will never get signed, no matter how much we dream about it, because we have lives to live, children to raise, wives (or husbands) to please, jobs to attend to...getting signed is not a part of my future. So just because the compo says "the song that will get you signed" that is not something I take literally. It is a direction.</long rant>
My song failed to fit that theme completely. But for me just having time to write a song and enter is an achievment.
