cut/paste/move automation curves?

Here's another automation question.

After I mapped out my masterpiece of knob-twiddling automation, I decided I wanted to insert another couple of measures of something earlier on. Come to find that when I move the section containing the automation to make room, the automation curves remain where they were, which is now two measures earlier than I'd like.

Is there a way to 'tie' automation curves to a particular clip?

No, there's no clip automation (a much requested feature), but if you shift click on an automation point and drag it, all subsequent points will move along with it, which will accomplish what you want to do pretty easily.
