Also being able to play bookmarked regions out of sequence.

My own view is A: cut and paste are easy and B: this idea violates T's wysiwyh paradigm.

Some details: What happens when you render? will the playlist be implemented or will it render whats in the linear view? then reimported renders won't "line up". And of course all sorts of issues would arise regarding behavior across the seams.

I don't understand why you would come in and tell people not to want a feature. I don't need to quantize anything because I actually play an instrument, but I won't ask Jules to remove the feature.

Cut and paste is not easy if you have 20 tracks of midi and audio.

I see people posting FR's all the time that I don't need. Who am I to tell them not to want it?

As for how to implement it, that's just like a feature in Cubase. It will render the linear view until you execute the command to render the playlist order.

Just to point out, it seems that a lot of people really do want this feature:

It really would help promote the view that Tracktion is a great tool for songwriters who want to hear ideas take shape quickly.

Cutting and pasting is also a big bummer if you have any automation, or parts that do not easily snap into a grid. And an even bigger waste of time if you're experimenting and want to hear a few variations before you start cutting things up.

don't be mad jp - its just my own view! I don't want it because I know that I'll lose track of the toggle and render stuff "wrong" and not know why the cursor is jumping around etc etc.

As far as cut and paste not being easy with 20 tracks etc -- it is as easy w 20 as it is w/ 2! you mark the region "copy marked region or copy clips within marked region, then insert at cursor. Not happy? multiple levels of undo. Not sure? save a copy of the edit - remember you can have multiple edits per project and edit files are small.

seems fine in principle but I have to say I'm not terribly impressed with the changing tempo function (it clicks at the cross over) or freeze function or render function or loop function, so I'm not too hopeful of a robust implementation.

If it was seemless then a big thumbs up. what would be cool would be that you could compose sections of the song at any point in the edit.

I would scrap the overall view of the edit in the top left of the edit screen (there are better ways to navigate your edit) and have this as a place you could drag and drop the yellow markers from the main screen. Then shuffle them about and use shift click to duplicate.
