Kramer with EMG's into a POD 2.0, then into a dbx 1066 compressor into the PC, quad tracked and panned with Izotope's Ozone multiband compressor and EQ.Sascha Franck wrote: Good sound, Devon. Care to elaborate what you've been using?

I'm not hearing any stereo there; I switched between mono and stereo and it sounded identical._niko_ wrote:Did some quick recordings too:

First a bit (almost) clean guitar, then some heavy stuff. Recorded with a Les Paul Studio, clean on the neck pickup heavy on the bridge. Both takes were doubled and panned hard left and right. Both use a software amp sim and the clean sound uses the voxengo oldschoolverb with the vintage guitar preset additionaly.
Playing is pretty imperfect, as I said a quick recording ...

I tend to always mic up my amp rather than using VST's..
I have a Yamaha DG100-212 amp and a fender USA Lone Star guitar... You can listen to various snippets of my sound at

You're right, I am confusedchampionrabbit wrote: I'm not hearing any stereo there; I switched between mono and stereo and it sounded identical.
You seem perhaps confused...
When you say 'doubled', you mean that you c&ped the first track, yes? That's not really what 'doubling' is about.
If you copy the track and pan one left and one right then the result is exaclty the same as having a single track panned central._niko_ wrote:You're right, I am confusedchampionrabbit wrote: I'm not hearing any stereo there; I switched between mono and stereo and it sounded identical.

I did mean copied, though I should know that doubling usually means doing another take...
