I reciently got Tracktion-2 and am learning to use it with the HDR that I've had since 1999. In learning to use it, I have accumulated a lot of test projects. I would love to know how to get rid of the demo's as well as all of the test projects I have accumulated. I want to start with a clean slate.

demos are in the example folder inside the tracktion root folder, as for the test projects you have to go where you created and saved them, just click on an edit and it will tell you the location at the bottom.

Each project usually lives inside its own folder: just delete those.

find your tracktion temp folder and delete everything in there. then go find the folder with all of the audio files in it from each project that you do, delete the folder, everything in it, you should be good to go. if that doesnt help, you're not using tracktion.
woot!

I went to the projects tab which brought uo a page with 2 folders on the left side. the first folder is labeled "active projects" thats where the demos, and all of my test prj's are. the other folder is library prj. which is empty.
I click on a demo and hit delete, but nothing happens. If I try to delete the whole folder, or whats inside, nothing happens. I am totally new to Tracktion ( duh ) so where do you find the root files to be deleted ?

You need to do outside of Trackion, using your usual OS tools.. the demo projects live wherever you installed the Tracktion folder.

I would think that there would be a way to delete right in the edit window. After all a delete is capital editing.

Ok, I went to the HD and put everything related to the demo songs in the trash. I tried to empty the trash, and I get a message, actually many messages saying " can not complete this task because ( then they give the names of many filters ) is locked" Then I re-started Tracktion and went to the project page, and all the demo's are still there. Any thoughts ?

You shouldnt be throwing away the plugins. The plugins should be in the "plugin" folder, the examples in the "example" folder, and your projects in "your" folder(s) If your trying to delete plugins, its nice that the recyling bin wont let you.chance11 wrote:Ok, I went to the HD and put everything related to the demo songs in the trash. I assume your running Mac (hence trash and not recycle bin)...try holding down control while you empty trash

Someone mentioned not to throw away the plug-ins, so does that mean that you have to remove the filters before you delete the demo ? The demo's have activated filters on them. I tried holding down the control key while dragging, but that didn't work

No, don't worry about filters at all. Deleting the demo project folders is all you need to do..

Someone mentioned that Tracktion should not be running when you delete. The folders that are on the left side of the projects tab ( the demo's ) are the ones that I want to delete. In order to see and move the folders doesn't Tracktion have to be running ??
