To those using Cubase SE, how are you fnding its performance and functionality? Is is stable in XP?

I'm thinking of making a gradual move to SL3 from VST 5.1 and SE gets me onto the upgrade path.

I know that some here may read this and ask why not go straight to SL3 (or SX3), but I'd rather take the slow road and get accustom to the new environment.

SE works fine under XP here. For the money functionality is great, obviously not a substitute for SL3 but it'll get you 90% of the way.

Well. 80%.

My abacus is broken so I had to make an estimate.

What upgrade path? Is there a discount for upgrading from SE to SL/SX?

According to the international price list as of May 2005, SL3 upgrade from SE is 249 Euros and SX3 upgrade from SE is 599 Euros.

A similar upgrade path is available in Australia.

stability is not a problem in my experience.
there can be some incompatibilities when using KXAsio or Asio4ALL - i had some bad experiences with Cubase SE, Soundblaster Live 128 and KXAsio.
But with a good soundcard and ASIO drivers, Cubase SE runs fine.

there's only one "bug" left:

whenever i zoom really close in the track view, Cubase "stands still" and CPU usage goes up very high.
When I open one audio track in the internal wave editor I can zoom as close as I want to. Only when I zoom in the track view / normal sequencer view, I get this behaviour. But that's the only thing and I think it has nothing to do with XP in particular.
