So, I paid my $300 for T2 with the promise of Midi Sync and MMC.

I get T2 out of the box install it, plug in my MPC which supports MMC, set the appropriate settings low and behold I have a Glorified Play button.

Play and stop works... But Record, Start, End, Event the basic MMC stuff does absolutely nothing. Its not as if my MPC 2000xl is an unknown piece of MIDI kit. ALl of these funtions worked perfectly in Cubase I might add.

Am I missing Something??? Is someone here controling the T2 Transport using external hardware???

I mean, I will put up with this if I have to..but sheesh..this is basic stuff I want to be able to stop and record my sequences in Sync with my MPC using the Transport controls on the MPC..Is this too much to ask????

Hey Madness,
MMC works from all of our tested devices. But I don't think we had an MPC2000xl to test against. Are you on a PC or Mac? If you wouldn't mind helping us by doing a midi capture of the output of your MPC for all those controlls that would help to fix your problem. This can be done with either MidiOX on the PC or Midi Monitor on the Mac. Let me know if you need detailed instructions.
Thanks,
Ben

I got a yamaha multrack midi disc player/recorder to start and stop T2, via midi, but I havn't delved more into it so far. Im a bit confused with the mmc logic control settings, so far, Ill get to it sooner or later, it is time consuming and any help counts.

Certainly that type of detailed info in the T2 manual would help.

Beno,

PM sent!!!

There is MMC and MTC in the PM you sent. Can you describe how you everything set up. This might be a set up problem.
Can you also turn off MTC on the MPC2000 and just capture the MMC? There should be only a single line captured for each key press.

It seems for each press MIDIOX gets 8 rows of Data, thats not me trying to be smart!! Im certainly no midi pro, but thats what it captures.

Post

Hang on, could that be because of the 8 Midi Yoke ports I have????

Post

Why is it dumping out so much stuff? It looks like it is sending a bunch of duplicate messages. Strange. OK let us have a look at this and I'll get back to you with any more questions.
Thanks for your help on this.

Oh yeah that might be. In Midi OX, go to Options>MIDI Devices and make sure only a single port is selected as the Midi input. Try that and if you only get one line for each, post the results again if you would.
Thanks,
Ben

Ok, so it appears now that MMC will only work with "SECONDS and MILLISECONDS" and not "BARS and BEATS" whereby it wont move on the right amount of ticks.

Any one else experienced this with MMC?????
