Hi.

As the development of the EVE synthesizers continues (almost silently), I would like to hear your opinion about the quality and the sound of the new DSP section that we are implementing.

Two test guitar-based mp3s, one without and one with effects:
Clean version
Effected version

In the effected version the initial arpeggio is effected with an amp simulator, a chorus and a bit of crunchy distortion.
The second guitar (that does power chords) has more distortion, a mini amplifier, phaser and some echo
The lead guitar has simply distortion, amp sim and a bit of echo.

Thanks for reading and listening!

Have fun,

Aldo.

Sounds very, very good. Are these effects that are being done for EVE 2? I have a great need for warm, crunchy tube like distortion that I've never really gotten from a plugin, the kind of dynamic amp just breaking up lightly sound. I like the Amplitube effects in ST2, but I like these just as well or better. This is good not so much because it is an authentic guitar sound but it is a distortion that has timbral depth and warmth and sounds integrated with the music rather than overlayed. I would use this on a vocal pad or drum kit, where you want some dirt but not shred. Also, the fuzz tone on the lead would be great for really edgy but musical synth leads. The other effects are good in that they are there and not there, they make the sound what it is but don't over power. Again, integrated and musical, and not overlayed.

Did I mention that I like it?

Thanks for the positive feedback.

An effect only version will be relased shortly (within 1-2 days for the first public beta).
It won't offer the full power of the DSP section of the future Eve(s) but it will be freeware.

As I said. Check out http://www.a0audio.com for the Creative Amplifier Project (CAP), a free plug-in that makes use of some of the technology behind the demo I posted a few days ago.
Don't take it too seriously, it's meant to be a toy but it gave me a lot of interesting results -- even on drum loops.

Have fun!
